If MomTok OG Jen Affleck and her husband Zac Affleck didn’t already have a history of issues both on and off The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, you can now add Zac’s tone deaf social media post to the docket. In a TikTok that was later posted on Reddit, Zac wrote on the screen about ending his “pure bloodline” by being with Jen and having kids with her. Jen is part Ecuadorian on her mom’s side. In fact, Jen’s mom was a housekeeper at the same hospital where Zac’s dad worked as a doctor. Even if Zac’s post didn’t bother Jen, it gave the fandom more ammo to believe that Zac isn’t the right man for her.
When Zac shared the post on TikTok, he made some silly faces, but didn’t add much more to it. Call it rage bait, or call it a post where he didn’t think how it might make him look after he already took flak for controlling behavior with Jen. But he didn’t take it down, and fans took to both TikTok and Reddit to share their thoughts on Zac’s post.

After Zac posted his TikTok and left it up, mind you, it left some fans wondering if MomTok could survive this. OK maybe not really, but it did lead to many wondering what Jen is doing remaining married to Zac. In season one of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Zac caught a lot of flak for nasty text messages he sent Jen while she was out with the rest of the women in Las Vegas.
At the start of season two, Jen had just begun to let Zac back into her life. Outside of the show, they announced a second pregnancy, so apparently Jen has no plans to leave Zac or give up that name any time soon. Even if Zac meant for his TikTok to be funny and he didn’t mean any harm in it, it rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way.
Commenters on social media had a lot to say about his post.
One user commented: “Hey. My mom is Brazilian and my dad is white American. I would feel absolutely dehumanized and disrespected if I saw my dad say that my birth ‘ended’ his ‘pure’ bloodline. Reflect deeply on this one drop rule mindset that’s your flesh and blood.”
Elsewhere, on a Reddit thread about the post, a user commented: “OMG! That’s so disgusting. It’s unacceptable. He’s repugnant.”
And even if Zac’s post was meant to be a joke, others do not find it funny, with someone commenting on Reddit with: “Pure white bloodline are not words I want to hear ever???? Who says that????”
In the caption under Zac’s TikTok, he wrote, “Live, Laugh, Love Latinas.” Clearly, he was trying to be funny. And, as his and Jen’s supporters know, he does love his wife. But the tone deaf approach he took the post and what the underlying meaning is was not lost on others who do not want to let Zac off the hook so easily.
“I see the intent, but something about the ‘pure white bloodline’ just rubs me the wrong way,” someone commented.
Another added: “Took a big gamble on posting this. But he’s used to gambling,” in reference to Zac’s gambling habits during the same Las Vegas trip where he sent Jen those hateful texts.
